Lake Tahoe provides some of the best skiing in the world. Alpine Meadows is located in the valley just below Squaw Creek. It was created with the idea that it would be a family place where the atmosphere was not like that of the other resorts in the area.

Alpine Meadows is made for the average family. This is the place for the first timer, for the family that just wants to experience skiing together and to learn as they go. It is laid back, not filled with the hustle and bustle of the other resorts in the area.

The mountain is dotted by a range of trees. There are junipers, western white and aspen trees that fill the landscape with natural wonder.

Despite their drive to stay grounded and avoid the jet setting atmosphere of Lake Tahoe, Alpine Meadows Ski Resort does provide some of the best skiing in the region. It is focused on providing an experience that is both friendly and adventurous.

Alpine has a variety of trails and terrain. There are many different choices and options for all different levels of skiers. Alpine Meadows also offers many amenities to cater to every need of their guests.

With 2,400 acres of skiing, they provides an amazing skiing experience. It is a different experience then you can get anywhere else in the Lake Tahoe area.

Alpine provides a winter getaway that is both family friendly and challenging. It offers a wide range of activities and a lot of adventure. This mountain is something that can not be missed.

My personal experience has shown that you should ski the back side in the morning before the snow gets slushy. Then slide over to the front side and enjoy the great bowl skiing that Alpine has to offer. I have had many wonderful days on this mountain and always found it to be a challenging ski mountain as well as a family friendly resort dedicated to making you ski experience as good as possible.

Be sure and make a trip to this resort the next time you are headed to Lake Tahoe for winter skiing fun. I guarantee you will enjoy your experience on this mountain. Many great days of snow fun have been had here and I go back every year to get my Alpine fun.

Tahoe is located within Sierra Nevada peak range that stands in the center bisecting Nevada & California. This lake lies in the area of both the 2 states. And what better setting can a family that is on holiday ask for.

There are some exquisite qualities of this Tahoe Lake that makes it the ideal destination for tourist planning a vacation. Firstly there is no dirt of hotels and resorts that can be easily found spread equally all over the region so wherever you'd like to stay you will find a decent accommodation as per your needs. If you love being on the water and water sports, you should plan a trip to Lake Tahoe. Not only is the scenery beautiful, but there is miles and miles of lake for you to speed around on in your boat. Depending on what type of boat you have, you can do all kinds of water sports with it. You can also fish if you want to or just take a leisurely ride around the lake and get tan!

You can go skiing, wake boarding or parasailing in Lake Tahoe but don't forget your life jacket! No matter how old you are, it's always essential that you prepare for the unexpected. Even if you're just riding on the boat, wear a life jacket at all times in case there are big waves or unforeseeable currents that are much stronger than you. You may feel silly wearing a life jacket but trust me, they can and will save your life in an emergency.

It's advised not to drink when you're driving your boat in Lake Tahoe, but people tend to do it anyway. Think of it this way: you wouldn't have 10 beers and then go drive your car, would you? Hopefully the answer is no and you should give your boat, the passengers in it and all the other people on the lake the same courtesy. Your vision and motor skills are highly distorted, even after just a few drinks, so appoint a designated driver to keep everyone safe.

It's always fun to have a party on a boat in Lake Tahoe, so think about having your next birthday or anniversary party there. If you have a large enough boat, you can invite some friends to swim, ski, fish or suntan with you on it. Make sure you bring great food and music and everyone will have a great time!

The Lake Tahoe Rim Trails, north and south, both allow views of Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley. These hikes are both moderate in difficulty, at an elevation of about 8,500 feet.

Marlette Lake is a fish hatchery at an elevation of about 8,000 feet. Hiking up the Spooner Lake Trailhead in the Nevada State Park will take you through lovely, aspen-filled North Canyon to Marlette Lake Dam. This hike is also of moderate difficulty.

The State Lookout hike is an easy one, at an elevation of about 7,000 feet and only a mile roundtrip. The Lookout affords superior lake views through free telescopes and you can take the nature trail which details the history of Lake Tahoe's famous North Shore. Turn north on Reservoir Drive off off Highway 28.

Another short and easy hike, on Lake Tahoe's south shore, is the Moraine Trail. Its elevation is about 6,000 feet and the hike is 2 miles roundtrip and fairly flat. It winds through the forest and along the Fallen Leaf Lakeshore and then on into Fallen Leaf Campground. Find it about three miles north of Highway 89 from South Lake Tahoe to Fallen Leaf Road.

This is just a smattering of trail descriptions for you to see some of Lake Tahoe's wonderful trails. Don't forget to research the weather and your permits… and that campfires are not allowed.
